Vision
Statement
SPIRITUAL VITALITY
We envision a healthy
congregation of believers of all ages, whose personal relationship
with God results in a spiritual vitality that is characterized by
daily obedience, humble dependence, and a servant’s heart. We see a
church that will strive to maintain the unity of the Spirit while
seeking to disciple each generation in a way that is relevant to
that generation. We see a church that will be known by what it
stands for, rather than what it stands against, and will not be
afraid to be unique in this regard.
PRAYER
We envision a church committed to the sacred activity of prayer.
We see a church that is committed to praying at the congregational,
small group and personal levels; a church that makes no decision and
will engage in no ministry without first committing it to God in
prayer.
WORSHIP
We envision vibrant
worship that engages the mind, spirit and emotions, enabling people
to respond to God. We will design culturally relevant services to
engage people at different levels in their life’s journey. We intend
to pursue excellence in proclaiming the Word of God
through music, the creative
arts, and technology to draw believers closer to God’s throne.
We envision a church that
provides regular, consistent opportunities for God’s Word to be
preached. We see a church that holds every man who stands in its
pulpit in the highest regard and to the highest standards in
handling Holy Scripture.
FELLOWSHIP
We envision a church where everyone
who God brings to its doors are welcomed and loved as people created
in His image. We see
a church community characterized by love, peace, and acceptance
where hurting people can find refuge and healing, and where all may
grow in Christ. We desire to practice encouragement, compassion,
mentoring, fellowship, and loving accountability as
we grow together.
COMMUNITY IMPACT
We envision a church that seeks to demonstrate its faith in Christ
through action. We see a church that will sponsor and personally
involve its people in a wide variety of activities that will help
the hurting people of the Coulee Region and allow them to see the
love of God in the hands of people.
DISCIPLESHIP
We envision a church where everyone
will have an opportunity to easily embark on a well-defined path to
spiritual maturity. We see a church where mature believers in Jesus
Christ walk alongside new believers, mentoring them along the way to
maturity in Christ, and reproducing the same in years to come. We
envision a church where being involved in a small group is nurtured
throughout.
CHURCH MINISTRIES
We envision a church with multiple
relevant and highly effective ministries that contribute to our
mission and vision and will exalt Jesus Christ. We are committed to
the highest quality in each facet of ministry. We envision lay-led
ministry, as the body serves Christ in the church and in the
community. We envision equipping people of all ages for gift-based
ministry deployment. We are also committed to regular evaluation and
spirit led experimentation,
risk-taking, innovation, and change.
LEADERSHIP
We envision a congregation with a
high commitment to the identification, deployment, and care of those
who are called to leadership. We will be a church who is committed
to developing leaders in all generations and at all levels of
ministry.
OUTREACH
We envision a church that places a
high emphasis on the proclamation of the Gospel and introducing
people to Jesus Christ throughout the Coulee Region and around the
world. We will aim our church’s staffing, budgets and personal
priorities, in the direction of the harvest. We envision impacting
our world by being
a sending church in both long- and short-term missions as well
as providing targeted outreach events for people of all ages. We
envision believers of all generations being equipped and encouraged
to share their personal faith in Christ and challenged
to first hand experience in the mission field. We will be committed
to the spread of the Gospel by supporting missionaries through
generous, sacrificial giving.
STAFF
We envision a highly specialized, Purpose Driven staff designed
to meet the demands of multiple ministries and to equip and empower
hundreds of volunteers for ministry deployment. We see
a staff that is passionate in reaching the mission and vision of the
church, a staff functioning synergistically, collaborating as a
unified team, mutually supporting and caring for one another and for
the church.
REGIONAL RESOURCE
We envision a church that
provides regional leadership and ministry. We see a church that is
committed to serving beyond
the greater Coulee Region, providing resources and training to
churches and Para-church organizations in the tri-state area.
FACILITIES
We envision a multi-purpose facility
that is flexible, open and inviting, able to support multiple
ministries during the week. We envision a state-of-the-art facility
seating 850 – 1,200 in worship, and the circulation, fellowship,
education, office and other space necessary to fully support this
size worship facility. This facility will also be designed to foster
the ability to host events that are regional in nature, ministering
to the family of God and those seeking Him, as well as host events
that are specifically designed to spread the Good News. We will be
committed to always having an empty seat for anyone who wants to
find Christ.
To lead saved and unsaved people to become
fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ.
Core Values
Christ Centered
We believe in Jesus Christ
as Lord and Savior, and commit to Him being central in all we are
and do. Col. 1:15-20; Phil. 2:9-11; Jn. 14:6.
Biblical
Authority
We believe the Bible to be
the Holy Word of God, with the power, authority, and relevance to
change our lives. We therefore commit ourselves to studying it,
applying it to our lives in all things. II Tim. 3:15-16; Heb. 4:12;
Rom.10:17.
Wholehearted Worship
We believe we are called to
worship God through Jesus Christ with all of our hearts and in all
of life. We commit to this lifestyle of worship and commit to
gathering together as a Body of believers to corporately worship Him
in Spirit and in truth. Ps. 95:6-7; Ps. 150; Luke 10:27; Eph.
5:19-20; Jn. 4:23-24; Rom. 12:1.
Gift-Based Service
We believe that every
believer is a minister who has been given gifts to be discovered,
developed and deployed, and we challenge each other to use our gifts
in ministry with excellence and creativity. We challenge each church
ministry to provide and expand opportunities to use people’s gifts
in service to Christ. Rom. 12:6-8; I Cor.12:7-11; Eph. 2:10; Eph.
4:11-13; Jas. 2:26; I Pet. 2:9; I Pet. 4:10.
Spiritual Growth
We believe every believer
should commit to a lifestyle of deepening prayer, consistent growth,
and Spirit-led change, with honest accountability, and will exhort
each believer to grow to his/her next step of maturity in Christ.
Acts 2:44-47; I Cor.11:1; Eph. 5:1-2; Phil. 3:8-14; Col. 2:6-7; Jas.
1:2-4; I Pet. 3:15; II Pet. 1:5-8.
Caring
Relationships
We believe in the value of
all people and desire to care for everyone God brings to us. We
believe this is accomplished through healthy, godly, caring, loving
relationships and commit ourselves to maintaining these kinds of
relationships in the unity of the Spirit. Prov. 19:11; Prov. 20:3;
Mt. 5:7, 9; Mt. 5:23-24; Mt. 18:15-17; Mark 12:31; Lk. 6:31; Lk.
6:45; Jn. 15:17; Rom. 16:17-18; I Cor. 5:11; I Cor. 12:12-13 – see
also vv. 14-26; Gal. 5:19-21; Gal. 6:1-2; Eph. 4:31-32; Eph. 5:1-2;
Phil. 2:3-4; Phil. 4:8; Col. 3:12-15; I Tim. 5:19-20; Titus 3:10; I
Pet. 2:1; I Pet. 3:8; I Pet. 4:8; I Jn. 3:11; I Jn. 4:7-8; I Jn.
4:21.
Kingdom
Expansion
We believe in and commit
ourselves to going into the world and making disciples, beginning at
home and extending throughout the world. Mt. 28:19-20; Acts 1:8;
Rom. 16:25-27.
DEVELOPING GODLY LEADERS
We believe in and commit ourselves to, identifying and training
emerging leaders in each generation who are fully committed to
Christ and who will build and guide His church through the
leadership of the Holy Spirit. (By means of biblical example,
Moses did this with Joshua; Christ did it with His disciples; Paul
did it with Aristarchus, Barnabas, Epaphrus, John Mark, Luke, Silas,
Timothy, Titus, Tychicus, Silas, and others.) I Cor. 3:10-14; II
Tim 2:2.
